Customer Review: Does not get knives very sharp but easy to use

This was recommended to me as the right sharpener for my Global knives. This is the right way to dull your Global knives. It is OK for lower end knives but never gets them as sharp as my Chefs Choice. The minosharp is simple and quick but so is the Accusharp which is close to 1/5 the price.
Ultimately, manual sharpening with a stone is slow but gets you razor sharpness.
Not recommended. You have plenty of other options.
Lower price, just as fast, sharper edge, easy to use = Accusharp
Higher price, slightly faster sharpening, more versatile, very very sharp but not razor sharp, easy to use- Chef's choice
Similar price (depends on brand), slower sharpening, requires skill, knowledge and practice but with all that you get the sharpest edge = good quality whetstones - use the water stones - less messy than the oil stones but both are effective
Description of MinoSharp Plus Knife Sharpener (Silver & Black) 440-SB
This effective and simple to use sharpener is suitable for all knives except those that are sharpened on one side only. It consists of two ceramic wheels - a white one that's coarse and a pink one that completes the sharpening process. The extra large ceramic wheels sharpen the maximum surface area of the blade at the perfect angle for a longer lasting razor sharp edge. It also operates with the use of water which keeps the ceramic wheels rinsed. Once filled with water, hold the sharpener flat on your countertop, firmly gripping one side to keep it steady. Holding the knife with your other hand, position the blade perpendicular into the groove with the white coarse wheel and move back and forth. Repeat with the pink finishing wheel. No heavy pressure is necessary. After sharpening, hand wash knife in hot water and dry completely. The ceramic sharpening wheels are less abrasive than electric sharpeners.
